PYO Strawberries | Ripening up at Primrose Vale

Strawberries at Primrose Vale

Strawberry season has returned to Primrose Vale Farm, with visitors able to enjoy one of Gloucestershire's most popular Pick Your Own experiences as fresh strawberries begin to ripen for the summer months

Located between Cheltenham and Gloucester on the edge of the Cotswold escarpment, Primrose Vale Farm Shop & Pick Your Own is preparing to welcome visitors for another exciting strawberry picking season.

Well known across Gloucestershire for its high-quality fruit and family-friendly atmosphere, Primrose Vale offers visitors the opportunity to pick their own strawberries directly from the farm. The popular tabletop growing system makes picking easy and accessible, helping visitors avoid bending down while keeping fruit clean and easy to reach.

Strawberries are among the most popular crops grown at Primrose Vale and form the highlight of the summer Pick Your Own season. As the season progresses, visitors may also find other fruits available, including raspberries, blackberries, blackcurrants, gooseberries, tayberries and loganberries.

Unlike many Pick Your Own attractions, there is no booking requirement and no entry fee. Visitors simply pay for the fruit they pick, although availability should always be checked before making a special journey as crops can vary throughout the season.

A visit to Primrose Vale offers far more than fruit picking alone. The farm shop is stocked with fresh seasonal produce grown on the farm alongside a wide selection of locally sourced food and drink from Gloucestershire and neighbouring counties.

Visitors can browse freshly baked bread, cakes, local cheeses, pies, quiches and other artisan products while supporting independent producers from across the region.

The Potting Shed Café provides a relaxing place to stop during a visit, serving sandwiches, paninis, cakes, ice creams, sundaes and hot drinks. Families can also enjoy the outdoor children's play area, which features climbing equipment, slides, swings, a vintage tractor and other play facilities.

Fresh milk and milkshakes from the farm's self-service vending machine have also become a popular attraction for visitors looking to enjoy a refreshing treat during their visit.

Before travelling, visitors are advised to check the latest Pick Your Own availability updates, as fruit availability can change quickly throughout the growing season.
