Looking Deep into Nature Celebrates Artist Peter Partington at Nature in Art

Nature in Art Exhibitions

A special exhibition celebrating the life, work and remarkable artistic legacy of Peter Partington SWLA comes to Nature in Art near Gloucester this autumn, bringing together paintings, prints, sculpture, collage and the acclaimed wildlife artist's studio.

Looking Deep into Nature runs from Tuesday 29 September to Sunday 25 October 2026 at Nature in Art at Wallsworth Hall, near Gloucester.

The exhibition celebrates the work of Peter Partington SWLA (1941–2025), whose lifelong fascination with the natural world inspired an extensive body of work depicting birds, animals and landscapes.

Celebrating the Art of Peter Partington

Throughout his career, Peter Partington explored nature through a variety of artistic forms, creating two and three-dimensional works ranging from paintings and prints to sculpture and collage.

Looking Deep into Nature brings a selection of these works together alongside Peter's studio, offering visitors an insight into both his creative process and the life of an artist devoted to observing and portraying the natural world.

The exhibition also reflects the generosity and enthusiasm with which he shared his knowledge and passion for nature, inspiring fellow artists and those interested in wildlife art.

A New Anthology Celebrating His Work

Coinciding with the exhibition is the publication of a new book, Peter Partington: The Artist's Anthology, written by his son, Jerome Partington.

The anthology will be available from the Nature in Art gallery shop, with proceeds helping to support an SWLA nature art school programme, Nature in Art and conservation charities.

Special Exhibition Launch & Private View

A special launch and private view will take place on Tuesday 29 September 2026 from 3.30pm to 6.30pm, giving visitors an opportunity to experience the exhibition as it opens.

Attendance at the launch is free, although advance booking is required.
