Cotswold Wildlife Park animals enjoy Easter egg enrichment

Animals at Cotswold Wildlife Park tuck into Easter egg treats prepared by keepers

Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens is celebrating Easter with a fun and enriching experience for some of its most popular residents, as keepers prepare specially decorated Easter eggs for a variety of species across the Park.

From curious Dwarf Mongoose to playful Binturongs, animals eagerly explored their colourful treats, each carefully prepared by the Park’s dedicated team. The enrichment activities are designed not only to celebrate the season, but also to encourage natural behaviours and provide mental stimulation.

Keepers Charlotte and Abbie used their artistic skills to decorate eggs for the Binturongs, one of the largest groups of their kind in the UK, while Primate, Small Mammal and Bird Keeper Dom delivered egg surprises to the ever-energetic mongoose group.

Meanwhile, over in the Reptile House, the Beaded Lizards took a more measured approach, eventually working their way through their Easter eggs over several hours. The activity forms part of a carefully controlled enrichment programme that supports the animals’ wellbeing.

The Easter celebrations coincide with an exciting time at the Park, with the recently reopened Skymaze adventure playground offering even more reasons for families to visit this spring.
