The Disgusting Sandwich Trail at Painswick Rococo Garden
Family Days Out at Painswick Rococo Garden – Summer 2025
Looking for silly, squishy, summer fun in the Cotswolds? Step into the world of The Disgusting Sandwich at Painswick Rococo Garden, one of the most unique places to visit in Gloucestershire for family days out this summer!
From 5 July to 8 September, follow Badger and friends through the historic 18th-century garden, collecting goopy, smelly, sandy (and totally silly!) items to build your very own Disgusting Sandwich. This interactive trail is inspired by the beloved children's book by Gareth Edwards and brought to life by illustrator and local artist Hannah Shaw.
Perfect for things to do with kids in the summer holidays, the trail encourages imaginations to run wild while exploring meadows, ponds, woodland walks, and quirky Georgian follies. And with free parking, plenty of space to roam, and no need to book in advance, it is the ideal spontaneous day out in the Cotswolds.
After all that adventure, tuck into something far more delicious in the on-site café — no slugs included! Homemade cakes, light lunches, and freshly ground coffee are all on the menu.
With a maze to explore, follies to find, and giggles guaranteed, this is family fun that makes memories to last.
Come rain or shine, Painswick Rococo Garden offers a joyful, muddy, messy, magical experience for family days out in Gloucestershire.
The Disgusting Sandwich Trail runs from 5 July – 8 September, 10am–5pm
Dogs on short leads welcome.
No booking required – just turn up and enjoy one of the best things to do in the Cotswolds this summer.
