Mini Foresters at Batsford Arboretum

Monday 15 June 2026

Father’s Day: 15 June 2026
Children can celebrate Father’s Day with nature-inspired crafts, memory keepsakes, twig raft building and a special handmade adventure medal.

Mini Foresters is an outdoor forest school stay-and-play experience at Batsford Arboretum, created for children aged 2 to 6 and their grown-ups. Set within a beautiful woodland environment, these engaging sessions encourage little ones to explore nature through hands-on play, creativity and discovery.

Led by Mini Mudders, each session takes place on a dedicated forest school site and runs in all weather conditions, with a heated shelter available on colder days. Weekly activities take inspiration from books and the natural surroundings, giving children the chance to enjoy meaningful experiences while building confidence, curiosity and problem-solving skills.

Activities may include den building, bug hunts, sound safaris, woodland crafts, mud kitchen play, balance challenges, tool whittling and campfire fun with toasted marshmallows. The magical woodland setting, wooden tipis and natural play features make Mini Foresters a wonderful way for young children to connect with the outdoors.

Families meet the session leader in the top car park by the Mini Foresters sign before taking a short walk to the site. All staff are qualified group leaders, first aid trained and DBS checked. As a stay-and-play session, children remain the responsibility of their grown-ups throughout.
