Family event in Bourton-on-the-Water - Flamingo Day at Birdland & Jurassic Journey
Birdland & Jurassic Journey welcomes visitors on Sunday 26 April for a colourful celebration of one of the world’s most recognisable birds during Flamingo Day.
The vibrant flock of flamingos are always a highlight, known for their striking pink feathers, social nature and elegant displays. Visitors can enjoy watching their natural behaviours up close, from their famous one-legged stance to group interactions and preening rituals.
The day includes two special flamingo feeding displays, giving visitors the chance to learn more from the knowledgeable keepers about their diet, daily care and fascinating adaptations.
Feeding times:
11.30am – Flamingo Feed
4.00pm – Flamingo Feed
With breeding season approaching, it is also an especially interesting time to visit. Visitors can discover how flamingos prepare for this important period and gain insight into their behaviour both in the wild and at Birdland & Jurassic Journey.
Daily talks with the expert keepers will explore what gives flamingos their iconic colour, how they live in their natural habitats, and the conservation efforts helping to protect them.
A perfect family day out for wildlife enthusiasts and anyone looking to enjoy nature in a unique and engaging setting.
