Junior Aquathlon & Triathlon at Cheltenham Lido

Moran’s Junior Aquathlon & Triathlon 2026 takes place at Cheltenham Lido, offering a fun and rewarding sporting challenge for children aged 8 to 16.
Organised in association with Pied Piper Appeal, this popular junior event raises funds for two local charities. The Aquathlon includes a swim in the heated main pool followed by a run around Sandford Park. The Triathlon adds a cycle route within the park between the swim and run stages.
The event begins at 7.30am with the youngest wave starting first. All other start times are provisional and subject to entry numbers, with the final wave expected to begin no later than 9.30am.
Age Categories
- TriStar Start (age 8)
- TriStar 1 (age 9–10)
- TriStar 2 (age 11–12)
- TriStar 3 (age 13–14)
- Youth (age 15–16)
Age category is determined by age on 31 December 2026 in line with British Triathlon rules. For example, a child currently aged 7 who turns 8 before 31 December 2026 may compete in TriStar Start. A child aged 10 who turns 11 before 31 December 2026 would compete in TriStar 2.
Distances and Start Times
- TriStar Start – Swim 54m, Cycle 1km, Run 500m (Start 7.30am)
- TriStar 1 – Swim 100m, Cycle 1.5km, Run 1km (Start 7.50am)
- TriStar 2 – Swim 200m, Cycle 3km, Run 1.5km (Start 8.20am)
- TriStar 3 – Swim 300m, Cycle 4.5km, Run 2.5km (Start 8.45am)
- Youth – Swim 400m, Cycle 6km, Run 3km (Start 9.30am)
