Snowdrops at Painswick Rococo Garden

Saturday 17 January - Sunday 1 March 2026

Spectacular Annual Display of Naturalised Snowdrops

Famed for having one of the largest naturalistic plantings of snowdrops in the country, the hidden valley that forms the Rococo Garden is carpeted in white for a few magical weeks at the start of spring. This breathtaking seasonal display is a highlight of the Gloucestershire garden calendar.

There are fifteen known varieties of snowdrop throughout the garden, including the famous Galanthus ‘Atkinsii’. This tall and distinctive bloom was first discovered in Painswick in the 1800s by estate worker James Atkins, giving the flower its enduring name.

For the latest snowdrop blooming updates, visitors are advised to check the official website.
